The given table compares the percentage of monthly household incomes spent on four categories such as food/drink, housing, clothing, and entertainment in five different European countries. Overall, households in most countries spent the highest proportions on food/drink and housing are the most significant expense monthly categories.
In contrast, spending on clothing and entertainment accounted for the smallest shares of household expenditure among all of the proportions studied. To begin with, Turkey spent the highest amount on food and drink, at 36%, which is far more than any other countries studied.
Similarly, the UK allocated the largest proportion to housing (37%), the highest among all nations. This is closely followed by Germany and France making up 33% and 31% respectively in the same category. Regarding clothing, Germany spent 15% of expenses, while France represented merely 7%.
As for entertainment, the former recorded 19%, yet the latter had just only 13%.
