Nowadays there is a debate about whether university should teach only technical knowledge that helps students in their career paths or also include subjects such as art and philosophy to improve their general culture. Although both sides have a strong sides, the arguments had not finished yet. People who suggest technical weighted education believe that the most important thing on the road of success in business life is strong know-how.
Actually this is a boss’s view because it is helpful to create good employer that has’t own life like robot. A person who trained by this system, turns into a creature like a robot. Most likely he/she become part of good technical staff but not any more. On the other side, some of people thinks universities create a high value person who can talk about art, knows some historical information, have a perspective about philosophy.
Its crucial in business life also. In my opinion, every person in this word no matter they are technical or not should know at least significant details about intellectual topic like history, art or philosophy. Furthermore, learning philosophy improves cognitive thinking; history helps make guess about complicated situations, art helps individuals become well rounded by developing their creativity.
As a result, even if individuals recieve technical education about their major, they need also some information about social sciences so that they dont look like a half empty glass.
